The Challenge
COVID-19 has alternated the way people work, from shared office spaces to remote home working. This change has made businesses adapt their way of working, which has led to some businesses using home working as a long-term solution for their business operations.
Our client approached us with a large number of computers, IT equipment and hard drives that were no longer needed due to the permanent closure of their offices. They have decided to introduce home working for the foreseeable, which required purchases of laptops for all their staff replacing their office-based desktop computers. The old desktop computers were left to be destroyed. This needed to be destroyed securely so the data left on the computers can’t be recovered off the hard drives opening their business to a data breach.
The Solution
Our hard drive & IT media destruction services is the most effective method to ensure confidential data has been permanently destroyed from old IT equipment. Our team arranged a time for collection of our clients’ old computers from their office and collected all their equipment sticking to our COVID guidelines.
Once the 219 items of computers, hard drives and printers were collected, they were transported to our Nottingham depot where the equipment and hard drives were securely shredded and send to our recycling partners to be recycled. Once everything was destroyed a certificate of destruction was sent to our customer as proof of secure destruction.
The Result
Our client can now relax with a peace of mind that their old IT equipment have been securely destroyed with reassurance that their confidential data will never be recovered.
