The Challenge
Our client approached us with an urgent request to supply our off-site shredding service to over twenty Covid-19 vaccination centres throughout Lanarkshire.
With the fast turnaround of the launch of vaccinations in the UK and many new locations opening to give vaccinations, the medical data that is held at these locations needed to be dealt with securely and in accordance with GDPR.
Without secure lockable consoles at the new vaccination centres, the service needed to be handled quickly to ensure the sacks were collected within 24 hours of drop off.
The Solution
Shredall SDS Group delivered paper sacks to all vaccination sites and arranged a collection and renewal when required within a 24-hour period. It was important that the personal data was handled quickly, confidentially and securely across all sites.
Communication was fast and responsive to a very demanding request, which needed to be dealt with in a timely manner. We first provided a quote for the number of sacks and collection from the multiple locations, set a date/time for dropping off the sacks and a date/time for collection of the sacks (24 hours after dropping off). Our DBS checked team were able to pick up the sacks from each location in a COVID secure manner.
The sacks were transported to our Scotland depot to be confidentially shredded and baled within the 24-hour period. A certificate of destruction was provided for each site after it was securely destroyed at our depot.
The Result
With our quick and secure service, we were able to provide sacks to over 20 locations, making the process hassle-free for our client. Our service ensured it was one less thing for the vaccination centres to worry about as they felt their patients’ data was in safe hands.
We continue to provide this service to all vaccination locations throughout the pandemic and we are proud to help and do our part by supporting the NHS, vaccination centres and the protection of the publics personal data.
