Shredall SDS Group are a Christmas Tree Recycling Partner

As 2024 draws to a close, most of us are in full preparation mode for the festive season. Christmas trees take centre stage during these festivities. It’s fun to buy and decorate them – something enjoyed by the young and old alike.

However, before we know it, the new year is here and it’s time to pack up, throw away, and gear up for the next 12 months. Thanks to Nottingham Hospitals Charity and Shredall SDS Group, you can begin 2025 on a charitable note while doing your bit for our planet. As part of our commitment to charities and other socially valuable drives, we’re a Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme partner, which focuses on Christmas tree recycling in aid of the Nottingham Hospitals Charity.

What is the Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme?

The Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme is an initiative facilitated by the Nottingham Hospitals Charity. This initiative engages partners, such as Shredall SDS Group, to collect real Christmas trees for recycling for a suggested donation. For trees under six feet, a donation of £10 is suggested, and for those exceeding this height, £15 is recommended. All donations go towards patient care in Nottingham. This means that you help the planet and healthcare in our community. You can sign up online quickly. Trees will be collected between 7th and 12th January 2025 – just place yours outside where we can find it.

Denim, our SDS Document Storage Manager, who will be helping to collecting the trees this year, has said:

"We're incredibly proud to be partnering with Nottingham Hospitals Charity to collect and recycle Christmas trees this year. It's a small gesture that can make a big difference, and by participating in this scheme, we're not only helping to reduce waste but also contributing to a worthy cause. We encourage everyone to take part and make a positive impact on our environment and the Nottingham community this year."

Last year the Christmas tree recycling scheme raised over £13,595  and it couldn’t be easier to get involved again this year and help raise money for Nottingham’s hospitals at the same time.

While signing up for your Christmas tree collection, why not take a look at the other NHS Hospitals Christmas initiatives this season? Grant a Christmas Wish uses your donations to brighten the day of youngsters in hospital over this period. Lights to Celebrate lets you add a light to a virtual NHS tree in memory of a loved one who passed on. This year, City Hospital and Queen’s Medical Centre have their digital trees up, waiting for your light. Donations go towards patient care, and you can even choose a specific area close to your heart.

How Shredall SDS Group are helping this season

Our chairman dons the red suit and beard to become Father Christmas himself at Santa’s Grotto near the Queen’s Medical Centre. We’re also involved in supporting A Christmas Wish.
