Tell us about your role at Shredall SDS Group…
I am Assistant to Directors at Shredall SDS Group, I mainly help Lucy regarding costs efficiency within the different departments of the business. I also do a bit of HR and will contribute to the new Loft Self Storage implementation amongst lots of other things.
When did you join the team?
I started working at Shredall SDS Group in June this year and feel like I’m settling in very well.
Tell us about yourself?
I have just turned 21 in June and I’m from the south of France. I have done my first two years of university in Nice in France and came to the UK in September to do my 3rd year of university at Nottingham Trent University in International Business Management.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy playing handball and I like to hang out with my friends. I also like to take photos, watch series, and listen to music. I also do like to travel a lot!
What are you enjoying about your new role?
This position is very diversified, I can do a lot of different tasks which is something that I really like. Also, the team have been very welcoming and friendly which is lovely.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan to go back to university next year or in the future to do a master’s degree. I wanted to gain work experience and earn money before which is why I took a gap year in my studies.
My short term plans involve looking forward to normal life without restrictions, having a full handball season, and experience the Nottingham life properly next year.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
I would say my degree in Nottingham and my new role at Shredall SDS Group. It has been quite challenging for me to follow lectures and start a job abroad speaking and writing English which isn’t my first language, especially during COVID because I couldn’t really interact with people. I am particularly proud to have passed my Research Project module this year, with a Mid 1st, because it was the hardest coursework I have ever done at university and the longest piece of work I have written in English. Being far away from my family as well is quite hard, so I am very proud of what I have accomplished so far!
