Shredall SDS Group is proudly celebrating 26 years in business this month. We’ve seen another period of significant growth across the company over the last year, hitting many major milestones along the way.
Company milestones from the last year
A recent landmark event saw us officially recognised as a carbon neutral company, verified by an independent third party (NQA) in accordance with PAS 2060:2014. Achieving carbon neutrality has been a long term goal as part of our ongoing environmental commitment, building on our ISO 14001 certification and carbon reduction plans (see the news article on our compliance recertifications to learn more).
We’ve made several new technological advancements, showcasing our continued commitment to innovation as a core value. During the summer of 2022, we rolled out a new job management mobile workforce system, incorporating a CRM, scheduling, routing and accounts package. Taking tech security to the next level, the company has also upgraded to Cyber Essentials PLUS.
Commercial expansion as the Group turns 26
Shredall SDS Group has made commercial strides during the past 12 months. The document scanning arm of the business in particular has tripled its revenue for the third consecutive year. In one recent case study, we successfully implemented day-forward mail scanning services for a well-known coffee brand, which is proving an ongoing success.
Our document storage facilities have grown from strength to strength, with over 32,000 boxes added to our depot over the last 10 months, with 25,000 additional boxes arriving this month. At our Scotland and Nottingham locations, we’ve installed new weighbridges featuring the latest ANPR recognition. Each of our shredding facilities have also had a new dust extraction system fitted to protect the health and safety of our teams, contributing to our Safe Contractor approval.
The Group’s shredding services have likewise seen a surge in demand, with our teams shredding 13,500 tonnes of paper in the last 365 days. Looking at the company as a whole, we’ve earned the trust of 955 new clients whilst still maintaining our valued long-term customers (and received a renewed Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award for 2023 to boot!)
Last (but certainly not least) our sister company, Loft Self Storage, has come into its own. All of the storage containers at our facility are now at full capacity, prompting us to expand elsewhere: we hope to sign a new large site deal in the next few weeks, which will include self storage, container storage, car and caravan storage and office space letting.
Giving back to important causes
Since we were founded back in 1997, charity has always been a huge part of what we do at Shredall SDS Group. From supporting schools to arranging fundraising events at hospitals near our headquarters, it has been a big year for giving back:
- Food bank donation to support local communities.
- Partnering with Nottingham Hospitals Charity to recycle Christmas trees, volunteer on children’s wards and donate to their neonatal ward
- Leicester Children’s hospital donation.
- Helping families in Ukraine by working alongside other companies to transport food, medical supplies and other donations.
- Retired police dogs donation in partnership with the Thin Blue Paw Foundation.
- Volunteering for the Green Spaces Conservation Scheme.
- Giving our support to Recycling Week at Hawthorne Primary School.
- Supporting the Gedling Memory Café.
A few words from our Group Director
Lucy Shipley, group director, had this to say about Shredall SDS Group’s 26th anniversary:
“We’re proud to look back on the successes of the past year across all parts of the business. It is fantastic to see that we’ve retained our Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award, which is yet another marker of our commitment to exceptional service and the dedication of our teams day in day out.”
