ISO 27001:2013 is the international standard that provides a framework for an information security management system. The standard is designed to help organisations manage their information security processes in line with international best practice, optimising legal compliance and protection of vital assets like client and employee information.
Shredall SDS Group has held this accreditation since 2015, through annual surveillance audits by NQA, demonstrating our continued commitment to securely handling our client’s sensitive information. Another successful audit was completed in the first week of November. Whether its data held on digital files or physical documents, Shredall SDS Group feels that it is our duty to fully ensure that all reasonable precautions are taken to stop sensitive customer information falling into the wrong hands.
Carole Woolhouse, Group Compliance Manager and Data Protection Officer comments,
“I’m really pleased with this result. Staff across the business work hard to keep information security at the top of the management agenda, and this is reflected in Shredall SDS Group’s continued certification to ISO 27001:2013. This means continued reassurance for the Group and our customers, evidencing that we’re putting in place and maintaining robust information security policies and procedures.
The Shredall SDS Group team welcomed the NQA ISO 27001 auditor to site and demonstrated a range of secure document and data handling activities across the business. Feedback from the auditor made it clear that we operate a good Information Security Management System (or ISMS) from secure premises, underpinned by thorough internal auditing – and we look forward to seeing them again next year. “
Carole continues,
“Our ISMS remains relevant to the business - and our customers - and contributes significantly towards our GDPR compliance activities.
So, what’s next on the compliance horizon? 2020 looks to be an exciting time for our new Scotland facilities, with an ISO 27001 certification audit planned early in the new year. Watch this space!”
Through continued and successive ISO 27001 audits, Shredall SDS Group is giving its customers additional peace of mind that their data is kept secure at all stages of processing.
