Every year on June 5th, the world comes together to celebrate World Environment Day, the biggest international day for the environment. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), World Environment Day has grown into a global platform for environmental outreach, uniting millions of people across the world in a call to action.
This year, the World Environment Day 2024 theme shines a spotlight on a critical issue: land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience, under the slogan:
Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.
As we celebrate World Environment Day, the team at Shredall SDS Group want to embrace the theme of land restoration and have planted 500 additional trees. By making a small yet impactful change we are championing our environmental commitment.
Over the last year we have been working with Plant For The Planet, planting trees in various regions across the globe. This widespread approach has aimed to combat deforestation’s impacts while also contributing positively to local ecosystems and communities.
The collaboration with Plant for the Planet is yet another testament to our ambitious environmental efforts. We have been proudly carbon neutral since 2021, championing eco-friendly practices such as ensuring our power is provided through zero carbon, 100% renewable resources.
Furthermore, our achievement of recycling 100% of shredded paper underscores our dedication to minimising waste and leaving a smaller carbon footprint as a business, and for our customers. This partnership summarises more than just a joint effort, it signifies a shared mission to reverse deforestation, nurture biodiversity and champion sustainability on a global scale.
As a modern day business, it’s a crucial part of our business to ensure we’re committed to the environment, which is why we’ve committed to making sure that none of the waste we recycle goes to landfill. From everyone here at Shredall SDS Group, Happy World Environment Day!
