At Shredall SDS Group, we're committed to making a positive impact on our community. That’s why we make our corporate social responsibility (CSR) a priority. This knowledge and commitment anchor our mission, values and business practices. Every year, we support many projects to promote socio-economic and environmental wellbeing.
Non-profits are close to our hearts. We actively raise funds and donate to a diverse collection of charities that address unique pressure points in our world. Through the years, we’ve supported Breast Cancer drives (even our drivers donned the branded pink shirt to spread awareness!) and participated in the London to Paris cycle challenge for Bowel Cancer UK. This time around, we’ve added ShelterBox to the list.
Who are ShelterBox?
ShelterBox is an international institution that provides shelter and other basic necessities to people who lost their homes in natural disasters or wars. This organisation regards a shelter as a safe space and the key to build back and recover – a symbolic cornerstone to get families back on their feet after a disaster. ShelterBox aims to promote health, safety and education by providing this basic need.
ShelterBox reaches out to disaster-stricken communities and provides emergency shelter, essentials and training to initiate the road to recovery. ShelterBox's unique, adaptable approach enables them to reach even the most remote communities in times of crisis. By strategically positioning essential supplies worldwide and mobilizing a dedicated network of volunteers, they can respond swiftly and effectively. Their volunteers, often venturing into challenging terrains by land, sea, or air, deliver life-saving aid directly to those in need.
The impact of our donation
Shredall SDS Group donated enough money to provide bespoke all purpose tents, large enough for a whole family to sleep. We have also helped with contributions towards community tool kits which are vital for families to improve their mud brick homes or to make makeshift shelter. We believe in this organisation’s assertion that shelter forms the foundation of building back. Our donations go towards emergency aid in conflict-torn and disaster-stricken regions. These include places such as Gaza, the Caribbean, Syria, Pakistan, Yemen and Cameroon.
ShelterBox keeps its aid strategies flexible to ensure that they target specific problems and needs. In 2023, this organisation spent £23m to help hundreds of thousands of people all over the globe. Every penny makes a difference, and we’re proud to have contributed to the cause this year. Roughly 78p of every donated pound goes into aid for those who have nothing left. The remaining 22p is used for fundraising initiatives. It’s not only corporate donations that make a difference. Your personal ShelterBox donation is just as important and needed.
